[Photo] The East Side, The Old Parts of Bogor Commuter Train Station

If you enter Bogor City by commuter train, actually, you are provided with two options. You can go out the station through in modern style or in old fashion style. The options are there because Bogor Commuter Train Station are actually formed by two different styles of architecture.

The west side, which connects with Mayor Oking Street is the modern one and the east side of the station, which is connected to Bogor City Square is the old parts.

It is because the west side is a new set up, developed in 2015 when the modernization of cummuter system train started in Indonesia. Meantime, the east side was established more than 130 years ago, i.e. in 1881. It’s one of the memento from the era when Ducth occupied Indonesia.

That’s the reason that the east side of Bogor Commuter Train Station is classified as cultural heritag of Bogor and should be preserved. The structure was developed with the reason of more and more European coming for vacation or business in the 19th century.
